Ho, Ho, Home for the Holidays!

Merry Christmas! We have had a fabulous holiday so far in the Dundas Family. We left Nashville on December 23 to begin our journey to Scotland. Everyone says babies travel well on flights and Anna was no exception to that rule! In fact, she started falling asleep the minute the plane started moving, which shouldn't have surprised us since she falls asleep in the car once the speed reaches 40mph! Anna slept on the 2 hour flight to Newark and slept the entire time from Newark to Glasgow...we had to wake her up for the landing into Scotland! We arrived in Scotland to be greeted by her proud and excited Grandparents as well as a lot of snow! The first snow that I've ever seen in Scotland at Christmas. It's a special treat to be able to spend the holidays in a winter wonderland! Cozy days and nights by the fire, snowball fights and of course we had to build a snowman, snowcat & snowdog! Merry Christmas everyone and all the best for a wonderful holiday!

Ready for takeoff!!

Baby It's cold outside...

It's not officially winter yet but with the temperatures barely getting out of the 30's lately it sure feels like Jack Frost is nipping on our noses! We've been spending most of our weekends Christmas shopping which means bundling up Anna in her warmest fleece and a cozy hat. She looks so cute that no one is able to resist her OR Alastair! Every time I turned around I would find Alastair stopped by various women...young, old....no one could resist talking to Alastair and his sweet baby girl this weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Anna celebrated her first Thanksgiving with a visit from her Grandma Sue or Ah-ma (chinese for Grandma) and her Auntie Lyn. Grandma Sue and Auntie Lyn arrived Thanksgiving afternoon - the same day that Anna turned 8 weeks old. Lyn was also here when Anna turned 4 weeks old and was amazed by how much she has changed in 4 short weeks. In fact, Lyn could be heard many times saying "Her head has gotten so big!"

Anna's biggest milestone this week...lifting her head!

We went to Opryland for lunch and Anna got a free bear....the free bear is in her stroller -- it's not the giant bear looking at her like she's a picnic basket!!

Our Music City rock star baby girl! Thanks to Auntie Lyn for her stylish new onesie!

Leaps and Bounds

It's hard to believe that Anna is 6 weeks old! The books say that at 6 weeks infants go through a growth spurt and we believe that in the Dundas household! On the day of her 6 week mark Anna went from waking only once a night to waking at least twice and not wanting to go back to sleep! Perhaps she knew it was the weekend and knows that is the best time to party all night long!? But last night she seemed to settle into the growth spurt and slept through until 4am....now when was the last time I thought getting up at 4am was the sign of a good day to come? Of course with the growth spurt comes all the adorable little changes we see in our little girl...the favorites being more smiles and the beginning of squeals of delight!

Our little libra....we brought this to the hospital when Anna was born....it didn't fit then but six weeks later Anna could finally wear her Libra onesie!

Hello new friends!! Who loves you baby?

Happy Days...

Anna is 5 weeks old and we're amazed at the difference we see in her now from just a week ago...

She's become more alert and more aware of the world around her and we have more nights of 6 hours of sleep than we do 4 hours! She's turning her head towards sounds, admiring herself in mirrors, and she finally fits in her newborn clothes!

Here is Anna......

Happy Halloween!

It was an exciting Halloween weekend here in Music City that began with a visit from Auntie Lyn. We spent Anna's first Halloween playing dress up - Anna's first costume of the night was a tribute to a favorite of Mommy's and Auntie's growing up - Wonder Woman. Just like her Mommy and Auntie though Anna would have preferred to have the invisible jet instead of just the cape! After passing out some candy we decided to take a walk around the neighborhood - for the walk Anna dressed up in her warmest pumpkin outfit. And since no pumpkin is complete without a prince and a princess we put on our finest tiara's (Daddy wore a king's crown). On our walk we saw a house that had every goblin and ghoul you could imagine. On Sunday we decided to check out one of the local corn mazes. After a few tosses of the pumpkin sling, we went into the maze......and quickly realized that if we were 3 feet shorter the maze would be a lot harder!

New to the World!

New to the world of blogging that is! Inspired by friends before us we have created this blog to keep up with friends and family...and of course share pictures of the newest addition to our family...Anna Evelyn Dundas. It's been a chaotic 3 1/2 weeks with our baby girl but everyday brings something new to marvel at. We got to bring Anna home on Oct 5 after a 5 night stay at the hospital. Anna had a bit of jaundice and Mommy needed to recover from the c-section. One of our biggest concerns was how our cat would react to Anna. Well the cat is completely scared of Anna and we're convinced that every time she cries the cat is thinking, "You left me alone for 5 days and you bring home that!?". On Thursday, Oct 8 Alastair's parents crossed the pond and Anna got to meet her Granny and Grandad. They treated us to a 2 week visit and spoiled us by making meals, doing a little DIY around the house, some gardening and most importantly helping us keep our sanity with adult conversation! They also spoiled Anna with lots of love and cuddles.
Welcome Home Anna!
