Summer Weeks 1 & 2

It's been 2 weeks since the school year ended for Anna and that means it's been 2 weeks of me finding creative ways to fill our days! So far we've spent time practicing our letters and writing our name in sidewalk chalk..
 We've followed the alphabet trail....

Then there was the day we discovered that sidewalk chalk mixed with water is like sidewalk paint! We mixed colors to see what new colors we could make...
We had fun with our blue hands....
We had even more fun decorating our slide with handprints!
Of course there has also been mornings spent at the park

We've gone on daily neighborhood walks after lunch....here is Anna taking Cinderella on our walk. Usually our walks involve looking for lions, tigers, and bears oh my! So far we've only found some ducks!
I also finally dusted off our spalsh pool...Matilda was very excited when she saw the pool!
 And so was Anna!

We've had some rainy days too...so we've built tents to read books in....

And had an animal parade!

Feeling fine at 9 (months!)

What laughs, crawls, stands, and weighs almost 18 pounds?
It's Matilda at 9 months old!
 She sits...
 She stands...
and she smiles.....at everything and everyone!
Matilda also likes to make this face where she scrunches her eyes up!
And if she can reach it she'll use any surface she can to pull herself into a standing position....
And she stands on her tippy toes too!

It's Daddy's Day!

On Father's Day some families might celebrate by serving Daddy breakfast in bed. We don't do that in the Dundas Family...instead we serve beer in bed!
Cuddles from his girls...

After our "beer" breakfast we headed to the lake for an afternoon walk...
We danced and ran on the trail...
And played some peek a boo too!
We climbed the rocks

And took a heart stopping twirl over the water!

Pomp and Circumstance

Introducing the Graduate!
Anna graduated from nursery school this week!

To celebrate her class put on a performance where they sang songs for all the parents. Anna's been singing the song's for weeks and it was good practice for her and for me! Hearing the songs before hand helped me not cry throughout the performance (though I still tear up anytime I hear her sing "My hand waves good-bye, my hand waves good-bye, every time I see my friends my hand waves good-bye").

 Singing her songs....
Receiving her diploma....
Hugs from a very proud Mommy

Hugs from a proud Daddy
Followed by an ice cream treat for the Graduate from her favorite ice cream place!
