Hip Hop

To celebrate Easter we went to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens for the annual Spring Art Hop! Auntie Lyn flew in for the weekend and brought Anna her pretty Easter dress!
First we met the Easter Bunny..Anna was a bit unsure of the Easter Bunny but a 6 foot bunny can be a bit intimidating!
Next we stopped at the balloon art booth where Anna got her balloon flower. She never let this balloon go....until it inevitably popped while being held a bit too tight.
Then Anna wanted to check out the Super Sculpture!
The Super Sculpture was a giant caterpillar made out of chicken wire that the kids got to stuff tissue paper in...instant art!

Then we enjoyed a stroll by the pond...

Finally it was time for the main event of the day....off to the egg hunt!
Anna waited patiently for the hunt to begin....

Would she ever be able to find any of these eggs!?!
Anna finds her first egg! But how many did she ultimately find????
Two eggs in Anna's basket! One egg in each hand and she was done!
Our last stop of the day was at the face painting booth...or in Anna's case on her arm.
Anna hated it! She kept looking at her arm and bursting into tears. I think it's safe to say she won't be getting a tattoo later in life!
Anna also got her first Easter Basket filled with no candy but toys from the $1 bins at Target!
Anna really liked the toy dog in her basket...

She loved it almost as much as loves the newest addition to our family - Jack!
Jack has quickly become a member of the family making Anna laugh, scaring the cat, and enjoying long walks...

I started this blog to keep family and friends up to date on life with the Dundas family. I never thought I would ever have anything but happy entries but I can't ignore life and the sadness that happens along the way. On that note...I dedicate today's blog in loving memory of my beloved Dee. I'm not going to lie it's been a difficult year for my family and I find it exceptionally hard to write about Dee...all I can say is Aloha....and Mahalo for all the wonderful memories...

Feeling hot, Hot, HOT!

It was very hot this weekend in Nashville with temperatures soaring into the 90's! How is a girl to stay refreshed and cool in this weather? With a strawberry blackberry popsicle - yummy!!
We spent most of our time outside this weekend- it was hot but the sun was shining and after such a cold and gray winter who wants to be inside!? The evenings wre the best time for going for a neighborhood walk....but first Anna had to stop and admire the tree peony in all its blooming glory!
The flowers are as big as Anna's head!
Evening walks sometimes end up at the playground....time to cool off on the swings!
Then it's time to explore the jungle gym...

And no trip to the playground is complete without a trip down the slide...we're still learning how to slide down on our own!

It was also the perfect weather for having a nice lunch outside...where Anna got to practice her coloring!

Hot days also make for sweaty hair!
