Annie Get Your Gun

Okay, so Anna doesn't need a gun but according to the butcher at the supermarket Alastair and I need to get one! Yesterday while grocery shopping the butcher looked at Anna and said, "Well, your Momma and Daddy are gonna have to get a gun when you're older cuz you sure are cute!"
Anna has reached more milestones the past 2 weeks....She is officially standing....put her down on the floor and she immediately finds something to pull herself into a standing position. It's been fun watching her learn how to sit back down too...she puts her little hand out...slowly lowers herself and then just plops on her bottom!
And the other big milestone is the start of her first tooth! Her 2 bottom teeth have also started to come in.

One of Anna's favorite things to do is to take all her toys out of the box. It's hilarious watching her...she picks one up, looks at it and if it's not the one she wants she throws it over her shoulder!
Where is that toy I want to play with?
Here it is!

Anna is also busy getting ready for her upcoming summer vacations. For her trip to California she's been wearing her sunglasses and practicing how to hide from the paparazzi....
And for her trip to Scotland she's been reading all about it and deciding what sights she would like to see!

Glasgow Highland Games

This weekend we went to the Glasgow Highland Games....held every year for the past 25 years not in Scotland but in Glasgow, Kentucky!! In 2001 Glasgow, KY was the site for the World Highland Games. Why cross the pond for Highland Games when you can just cross the state line and drive 90 minutes north of Nashville!?
There were caber tossing events....
Throwing the weight by height events....which is throwing a really, really heavy piece of metal over a bar as high as you can....
And of course pipes and drums contests...this is the Nashville Pipes and Drums competing...groups from all over came to compete...there was even pipes and drums competing from Alabama, Illinois, and Ohio!
Anna enjoying a picnic on the lawn while listening to the bagpipes...while her Daddy enjoys some Haggis and chips...

And for those of you whose heart aches for the sounds of bagpipes here's a little sample of what you missed at the Glasgow, KY Highland Games!

Let's Get Physical

This week Anna had her first class at My Gym for her baby exercise class! She was a bit unsure at first and just sat and stared in wonder at all the other babies but by the end she was moving around and exploring.
Anna especially liked this red ball....
But perhaps her favorite was playing in the swing!

This was a soft rolling tube the kids can crawl in...I think the photo looks a bit like Anna is in the movie Star Wars!

Anna also likes the swings in the park!
